The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation maintains numerous holdings and facilities in Deerpark, including the Mongaup Wildlife Management Area, a prime spot for eagle watching, the Cherry Island Wildlife Management Area, accessible only by canoe and the Basha Kill Management Area which features extensive wetlands and trails.

River Accesses in the Hamlets of the Town of Deerpark are at the following landmarks:

  • Basha Kill Wildlife Management, Indian Orchard, Westbrookville
  • Neversink River Public Fishing Stream, Third Street, Godeffroy
  • Neversink River Fishing Access, Hoag Road, Cuddebackville
  • Sparrowbush Fishing Access, Hook Road, Sparrowbush
