The Village of Delaware Water Gap - Delaware Water Gap, PA

Village or Town
A white blaze means you're on the Appalachian Trail! – Rachele Cooper

The only town in Pennsylvania with full Appalachian Trail through-hiker support, Delaware Water Gap is proud home to a community that welcomes hikers—and other visitors, of course!—and fosters a love of the outdoors.

Delaware Water Gap can account for all your needs when hiking, preparing for a hike, or winding down after a long day exploring the outdoors. The Church of the Mountain Hiker Hostel is host to hundreds of through hikers every year since 1976. The Deerhead Inn, a historic jazz venue, provides upscale dining, lodging, and entertainment for all. Get geared up for your hiking and camping adventures, go for a river trip with Edge of the Woods Outdoor outfitters, or enjoy our fine eateries and landmarks like the Sycamore Grille, the Apple Pie Cafe, or the Village Farmer and Bakery.

For a longer hike perfect for a family day trip, try the Mt. Minsi fire trail loop that brings you to the breathtaking summit of Mt. Minsi via the Appalachian Trail (follow the white blazes!), and follow the fire trail down to the base. If you want to enjoy a shorter hike, the Cherry Creek Loop trail brings you through the charming Delaware Water Gap and across the Cherry Creek stepping stones, the only stepping stone system of its kind in Pennsylvania. Or just explore the trails in and around the area! For more information, stop in at the information center at the Apple Pie Cafe. The Village of Delaware Water Gap is just minutes away from the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and just moments off of Route 80.
