The Delaware River Club Flyfishing Resort - Starlight, PA

Guide or Outfitter
Robert Lewis

The Delaware River offers the best dry-fly fishing east of the Rockies, with wild Rainbow and Brown Trout rising to some the largest hatches of mayflies and caddis in the east. This abundant food supply also makes for some technical fishing, which is rewarded in the form of large, wild trout.

Every day on the water is a learning experience, and a trip with our guides will help speed the education process along by teaching you about the river, bugs, and fish – all while providing a fun, successful day on the water.

Areas of Service and Expertise

Our pool of licensed and certified guides have well over a century’s worth of experience between them and readily help you unravel the mysteries of the river system. Each is an excellent instructor, and they are intimately familiar with the entomology of the river; a vital part of success on the Delaware.

Types of Experiences and Trips Provided

Many consider floating the Upper Delaware in a McKenzie style drift boat the “only” way to fish. Floating gives you the advantage of both being able to maneuver to areas inaccessible by wading and the ability to use the boat as a taxi to switch between multiple spots during the day. The guides at Delaware River Club are expert oarsmen, and will easily position the boat in the sweet spots where wild trophy browns and rainbows lurk. Each drift boat seats three (one guide and two fishermen) with plenty of space, and lunch is always included on full-day floats. As these trips tend to fill quickly, we suggest that you book as early as possible to ensure availability.

For those who prefer to fish with their feet planted in the stream, we offer walk/wade trips throughout the system, including waters inaccessible by drift boat. We offer private-access trips on the West Branch, as well as excellent wade opportunities on the East Branch, Main Stem Delaware, the Beaverkill and Willowemoc Creek.
