Minisink Hotel - Minisink Hill, PA
Located less than a mile from the Delaware River, sitting on the banks of Marshalls Creek, the historic Minisink Hotel is a hidden gem in the Poconos.
The cozy atmosphere, great food and rustic setting are a must for anyone in the area to experience. Whether you are coming off the golf course, the river, a hiking trail or the road, you will find a great mix of both locals and visitors alike at the Minisink. It even has its own covered walk-bridge that spans the creek where patrons can be found year round enjoying the view. Open 11:00 am to 2:00 am, seven days a week (with special hours on holidays).
The history is incredible; the building was originally erected in the 1740’s on land purchased from the Native Americans. Through the years, the Minisink has had a few different identities. It has been a stagecoach stop, a general store, a hotel, and now a full service tavern.
The extensive menu offers something for everyone including burgers, cheesesteaks, homemade pizzas & stromboli’s, a gigantic Nachos Supreme platter, tours of both Italy and Poland, and their specialty sandwich, the ‘Simon & Garvin’ are just a few of the favorites.
You can tell by the all of the Military photos on the wall that the owner, Frank Ottinger, is Navy Seabee Veteran. Frank has been overseeing the menu selections for the past 27 years using local meats from Gary’s Meat Market whenever possible. If you are here during the Christmas season, make sure to ask one of the bartenders about the meaning of the upside down tree.
Great food, awesome atmosphere and a fantastic staff! Don’t miss a chance to stop by the Minisink, you will not be sorry!
