This section of trail runs relatively close to the Delaware River in places. Nearby Toms Creek (across Route 209) has picnic tables, restrooms, and a short hiking trail along the creek. Toms Creek was home to a well-known gristmill from the area as well as a reciprocating sawmill during the 1800's.
The trail is typically busier in the summertime and on weekends . It does accommodate cross-country skiers for winter use as well.
