Chamberlain Canoes is a full service livery located in Shawnee on Delaware Pennsylvania. We offer non-guided river trips on the scenic Delaware River within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
We offer canoes, kayaks, rafts and tubes for hourly to multi-day river trips. We'll provide all equipment, transportation from our base to the river and back, life jackets, paddles, maps and a safety orientation prior to your trip.
Pack your lunch, put on your swimsuits and water shoes, and enjoy a fun day floating the scenic Delaware River.
Chamberlain Canoes is handicapped-accessible, however some of the river accesses used may be steep and rocky, posing some difficulty getting to the water.

Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes
Chamberlain Canoes was founded by Jim Chamberlain of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1968. The Chamberlain family operated the livery through 1989. Robert Sweeney and his son, Brad, from Delaware Water Gap purchased the business in 1990 and have proudly been operating Chamberlain Canoes ever since.
Pet Friendly Notes
Chamberlain Canoes is pet friendly in canoes and kayaks only. Sorry, no pets in rafts or tubes. All pets must be leashed when within the National Recreation Area.
Types of Experiences and Trips Provided
Chamberlain Canoes offers trips from one hour to multi-day overnight river camping trips for all abilities.
The section of the Delaware River that we service is mostly calm with some Class One rapids. No whitewater.
It's not uncommon for our guests to see deer, bear, turkeys, bald eagles, beaver, heron, turtles and snakes as well as many species of fish while out on the water.
