C. F. Martin & Co., Inc. (Martin Guitar) - Nazareth, PA
C. F. Martin & Co., Inc. (Martin Guitar) was founded in 1833 by Christian Frederick Martin Sr. and has been continuously family owned and operated for six generations. As one of the oldest surviving acoustic instrument producers in the world, Martin guitars are manufactured by skilled craftsmen and women who superbly employ a mix of Old World craftsmanship and new technology. This privately held manufacturer is acknowledged as the creator of some of the world’s finest musical instruments, and the Martin name has become recognized as an American tradition in superior craftsmanship. Current Chairman and CEO Christian (Chris) Frederick Martin IV assumed the leadership of the Company in 1986. His Company leadership and dedication to the community and the environment are well respected by his peers in the musical instrument industry, the community and Martin employees.
Martin Guitar's legendary heritage has helped create music history and define musical culture. More than 200 rare, vintage instruments are on display in the Martin Museum, from the Stauffer and Ditson models to the D-45 pre-WWII and Sustainable Wood Models. The Martin Museum honors the artists who created music history, from Gene Autry and Johnny Cash to Elvis Presley, Eric Clapton and John Mayer.
We take such extreme pride in the guitars we produce that we open our doors for guided factory tours. Our guests witness firsthand the detail of exquisite craftsmanship that goes into each guitar.
Martin Guitar is committed to corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship, and to support this commitment Martin maintains Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Chain-of-Custody certification. Being FSC® certified indicates that Martin complies with one of the highest social and environmental standards on the market. By offering FSC® certified products, Martin supports responsible management of the world's forests.
To help end the worst poaching crisis in history, Martin Guitar and The Nature Conservancy launched a partnership in June 2014 to ramp up efforts in Africa and China through #SaveElephants, a campaign to increase resources for elephant protection, add to growing global pressure on leaders, and to provide concerned individuals with opportunities to take action. Music artists have also lent their support as elephant ambassadors to help raise awareness.
In 2014, Martin Guitar committed to making every UPS shipment carbon neutral. Martin has chosen carbon neutral shipping to demonstrate and share its commitment to reducing climate impact. Choosing carbon neutral shipping helps Martin balance out the emissions produced by the transportation of our shipments. Martin has elected to pay an additional carbon neutral fee per package which UPS will use to support projects such as reforestation, landfill gas destruction, wastewater treatment, and methane destruction.
