Brook Hollow Winery - Columbia, NJ
Brook Hollow Winery is a farm winery located in the American Viticultural Area (AVA) known as the Warren Hills AVA. This small family-run winery has 14,000 vines planted and produces all of its wine from New Jersey fruit. It is bordered on one side by the Paulinskill river and Columbia Lake and on the other side by the Delaware River and Delaware Water Gap. The winery produces dry table wines, and winery owner and vintner Paul Ritter bases many of their events on educating the public about producing wines in this area. Through his Adopt-A-Vine program Paul conducts seminars throughout the year in the vineyard, with the Water Gap in the background, on vineyard establishment and management and the craft of wine-making. We now have a new banquet facility to conduct weddings, private parties and team building events along with off-site meeting space.
We are a handicapped-accessible building. We also provide electric golf cart service to those wishing to participate in vineyard events who are not able to walk to the vineyard.
The winery produces half of its required power from solar. All of its byproducts from discarded fruit from the winemaking process are composted and placed back into the vineyard. An extensive storm water management plan was developed to ensure that all water remains on the site with all of the roof water collected and used as needed in the vineyard.
